SuperComputer


At the end of the size and capability scale are the supercomputers. The systems are the largest, fastest and the most expensive computer in the world. They are use for Bio-medical research, weather forecasting, chemical analysis in laboratory, complex scientific, and defense application.

BlueGene/L System is now the world's fastest supercomputer. It is a joint development of IBM and DOE's National nuclear Security Administration(NNSA) and installed at DOE's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore.
